Vector Scientific Accident Reconstruction Expert
Adds ACTAR Accreditation

Vector Scientific, Inc. (VSI) encourages its team to grow through continuing education, training, and research as part of the company’s commitment to providing the highest quality forensic consulting services.

VSI’s Wade Baker became the latest engineer to become a Fully Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist. He completed 240 hours of educational courses before taking an 8-hour examination administered by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) that tested his knowledge and skills in the areas of accident investigation and reconstruction.

Mr. Baker holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics from Virginia Tech. Since 2017 Wade has been part of the injury biomechanics and accident reconstruction teams at VSI analyzing motor vehicle, industrial/occupational, and sport/recreation accidents. Along with his ACTAR accreditation, Mr. Baker also holds certifications in FAA Remote Pilot for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones), and Bosch Crash Data Retrieval for EDR downloads.

In addition to earning his accreditation, Mr. Baker recently presented an educational seminar to a nationwide insurance company entitled “Early Evidence Preservation, Accident Reconstruction, and Injury Biomechanics in Low-Speed Motor Vehicle Collisions.”

His presentation highlighted the importance of gathering and preserving crash-related evidence early in a motor vehicle case including photographs, videos, statements, and Event Data Recorder (EDR) downloads. He also covered low-speed accident reconstruction issues such as impact sequence in multi-vehicle collisions and collision severity as well as covering the biomechanics of common injury claims in different impact configurations.
